These 'cab views' of the Weardale Railway from Bishop Auckland to Stanhope were filmed on a snowy Sunday 5th December 2010. Motive power was class 141 'Pacer' unit number 141 113. Continuing our westward journey to Stanhope part 3 of the cab ride focusses on the line from Wolsingham depot as far west as Frosterley station. Just west of the 'Gun Barrel Shed' we cross over a partially frozen River Wear before heading into Wolsingham station. Leaving the station we pass some epic icicles on the station overbridge. This section of the line was particularly picturesque in the snow; with the afternoon light taking on a golden hue, casting long shadows across the crisp snow. The level crossing at Wolsingham is passed, before we cross over the river Wear once more on the approach to Wolsingham station - a station retaining its buildings -designed by the Stockton and Darlington railway.
