Yes, it's poor quality but you can still see Randy Tischmann, Mike Dominguez, Josh White, and Ron Wilkerson tearing up a half-pipe squeezed into an indoor BMX track in the sleepy little town of Le Sueur, MN.
it was really spectacular to witness and pretty funny that it was held in such a strange location. There was a writeup about this contest in freestylin' magazine. a really great memory from the 80's, thanks for the video!
the shed was visible from hwy 169 on the east side, just below the green giant billboard. This was a pretty big deal, not many (any?) pro vert contests made it to Minnesota and to see this many pro riders in one place was really something. it was funny to see the riders having to hold back on their airs and ducking to avoid the rafters. all the spectators were shoulder to shoulder and the ramp looked huge from floor level.
if this video is what i think it is, we have an absolute piece of gold here folks! I attended this contest as a kid in Le Seur, MN sometime in the winter. it was very cold, i mean cold for Minnesota, like when your skin stings. The ramp was set up specifically for this contest and then taken down right after. It was housed in a large tin shed that had a dirt BMX track as its floor. The shed was used for BMX races in the winter. I raced in this shed a few times.
@excusemeplease... Some of these guys were 16-17 years old... 20 years ago.
I'm sure you're kid is awesome, but dissing the old school? Those tricks your kid is doing... we invented them. And yes, by "we", I'm including myself.
I was there. Man thanks so much for posting this it brought back a few great memories. One thing that sticks out was how it seemed so underground and in one of those things that you had to be in the know to be there. I remember it was an indoor BMX track or something and it was freezing. So was this 86?

@excusemeplease92
Why do you feel the need to compare your kid to these guys and make him out to be better? Unfulfilled life of your own?
