LITTLE WONDER produced 5" phonograph records between the years 1914 and 1923. They sold for ten cents through 5 n' dime stores and made it possible for those who would otherwise not be able to afford records to actually have and listen to them. This historic recording issued as LITTLE WONDER #339 in 1916, features the first documented use of the expression 'Rockin N' Rollin', but from a spiritual perspective. "Keep on rockin n' rollin in your arms...in the arms of Moses." I hope you enjoy this as much as I. And remember...Who built the ark?...Noah Noah...Who built the ark?...Brother Noah built the ark....Yeah! Who built the ark?...Noah Noah...Who done built that ark?...Brother Noah built the ark!

  • the black guy said niggas

  • @enferno00 Yes he did! And just so you know, the use of the word Nigga is the way some blacks affectionately address each other. It is appropriately used here in a loving and kind manner. Its all in the inflection.

  • Nice. I've been trying to hear this one everywhere. Thanks for putting it up.

  • The first ever rock and roll record? Kinda cool. If you can connect a separate microphone to your camera, put it right into the horn, you will get a better transfer.

  • Uyy esto es viejisimo en serio!!! 1916....aún no se promulgaba la actual constitucion mexicana......pero por lo visto y escuchado.....aquí emplearon por primera vez la palabra o frase Rock and Roll.......un término que sería 40 años más tarde un género que revolucionaría al mundo.

  • Great!!! First use of word Rock And Roll!!!

  • @metalalan

To paraphrase wikipedia - it's the first recording to USE the words "rock 'n roll" but it does it in a spiritual. It's not even in a blues format! The phrase "rocking and rolling" originated in the black church and was used by DJ Alan Freed in the 50s as a descriptor for the music he was playing on air.

  • this record it important! it is the first musical records to mention the phrase "rock and roll" in a song. this record is worth something

  • thank you
