@JusFnAround u can buy a decent controller for 300-400 bucks and u wouldnt have to buy a sound card ...its comparing fubu with nike u pay more for way better quality and when it comes to djaying its quality over quantity even if u are a beginner get a numark controller u pay only like 200$ more but it will be way better than that toy

@farebrotha first buy this ($2.14 with free worldwide shipping) dealextreme(dot)com/p/virtual-
5-1-surround-usb-2-0-external- sound-card-22475. DO NOT INSTALL THE DRIVERS. just plug it straight in, it will register as USB AUDIO or something like that. go into virtual dj, settings, then choose headphone output. Your built in card can be for speakers and the card for cueing (or vice versa doesn't matter). then you should be all set. make sure you lower the cue volume ;) -
I just got the discovery DJ. One of the most important parts of the whole DJ thing is CUEIng, None of the video's on Youtube even touch that aspect. So I noted that you bought and external USB sound card for Cueing, Could you give the name and Model number and how you set that up for cueing. i can be reach at farebrotha@yahoo.com.... Much appreciate any help on this !!!!!

Should i get this or the Hercules DJ Control MP3 E2? Or like a Korg NanoPad?? Thanks!

@c4nd4c3tkd connect the USB soundcard, go into virtual DJ, choose headphones in the output setting, and select your built in sound card as one output and your usb soundcard as the other ;)

@bennyherber how did u connect ur sound card so the sound comes out of the speakers n the headphones
are there hot cues on the board?

@memphistigers777 unfortunately no hot cues on board... its as basic of a beginner set as it gets.

@JusFnAround is it worth $99?
memphistigers777 1 year ago
@memphistigers777 It depends.... Its hard to say. I can afford it so I did it. I also didnt have a problem droppin the additional $99 on the Audio 2 DJ sound card, so that I can listen to the music on my speakers, and then cue up music on my headphones.... That being said, I used it and loved it for 9 months. Virtual DJ make a huge difference too, but at the end of 9 months I upgraded myself to the Vestax Typhoon.... If you can afford $300 then thats a good option. Think of this as step 1

@JusFnAround why did you buy the a2dj? you can get a usb soundcard for like $4 on dealextreme (that's what I did).
my set up is: discover dj $50, usb soundcard $4 , usb numpad (for effects, hotcues etc) $5, and virtual dj 7 $0 ;)

@bennyherber Well DAM Benny....... That info could have saved some coin last year. when I bought the stuff....
That being said, Can you do all of us a favor, and show how you have all those compenents connected, and how did you configure them in the MixVibes Software.... I tried a USB sound card myself, and could never get the configuration right. So Im sure a Video would be greatly appreciated by all....
