  • This song is a classic. It tells the story of a woman who is reminiscing about her younger years prior to marriage but it's told from her husband's perspective. He is grateful because he knows she could have chosen a different life, but she chose to be his wife and he appreciates her all the more years later for her choice. He admires her beauty in a way that she loves to see herself, even though she isn't the young girl she once was... she will always be beautiful to him.

  • This takes me back to 1968, a better time. Thanks for posting!

  • I am an everyday housewife and I dance to this song all the time. I know how much my husband appreciates my. He tells me everyday. We have been together 20 years and he still tells me thank you for cooking dinner every nite. Still takes me dancing, brings me flowers, and tells me everyday how much he loves me. I WOULDN'T TRADE MY LIFE FOR ALL THE COFFEE AT STARBUCKS!

  • @Iconius1 And it's too bad, a better time....I remember!

  • I was 5 years old and can still my mother dancing . . .at NASA . . .what at time Good times . .

  • This was my first Glen Campbell album. It was actually on a 4 Track Tape. That's right kids, before CD's, there were cassette tapes. Before Cassette tapes, there were 8 Track Tapes. Before 8 track Tapes, there were 4 Track Tapes and of course there were albums and 45's.

  • Great song :), thanks for posting..

  • Who cares about the words? they're from another time altogether. Just enjoy an amazing piece of music with an otherworldly arrangement.

  • I`ve second guessed you for years honey , thanks for coming back to me

  • I knew Glenn back in Albuquerque, and his uncle Dick Bills.... those were good old days.

  • The everyday housewife... a thing of the past... the innocents, the charm and beauty of a decent woman that believes in love, respect and honor. Like most of those generations past when modesty was a vitue and demanded respect from all... when a kiss was a kiss not a throat swabbing of phyiscal lust.... when your mother was a woman that didn't display her body as if it were so much meat to purchased.... yes those days are gone forever !

  • Beautifully said jammy4me!!!!!!
