Both the NYT Tower and the new Modern Wing of the Chicago Art Institute are butt-ugly when viewed from a distance. But having now visited both, I can appreciate their interior spaces, which display an impressive level of detail and refinement.
Piano's "Nichols Bridge" (which leads to the Chicago Art Institute from the adjacent park) is also best appreciated when you are walking it rather than viewing it from a distance.
thanks for sharing!
