'HONGI' - a Song for Ben Harper- from Emmaline Anderson

This is a song I wrote in 1997 after chatting with Ben Harper then when he said goodbye he gave me a 'Hongi'... ( I've been taught that a 'Hongi' is ' the seeing with the third eye, and the sharing of the One Breath') Well of course I melted, and immediately after this song came pouring out...This is my first recording, 'Hongi' debut E.P- done in March 2007, with the help of Sdenek Styk & Willie Kepa.. I then raced to Byron Bay Blues Festival and some how...( well with the help of great friends...) got to give this CD to Ben... -In the space of 10minutes I watched him get given about 15 CDs, so not sure if he's even heard this song for him. I have made my first 'Clip' with the E.P cover shot and photos of New Zealand, Christchurch and Karetu, photos of my family nga whanau, my friends e hoa, and the wonderful beauty that is Life!
