Thanks from the bottom of my heart for the support you go on showing me, I can't really tell how much is appreciated !
It's not simply a question of cold numbers, but it's a public summary hint for the dozens of beautiful comments I recieve every week, so really Thank You !

Roger Waters is one of my greatest music heroes and The Wall is surely his masterpiece with Pink Floyd.
Comfortably Numb is one of the highlights of the famous double album and probably the song that better stands even alone among the others, as demonstrated at Live8.

David Gilmour wrote the first instrumental draft and then the song was re-worked with a darker touch by Roger Waters who also wrote the whole lyrics and enriched with great orchestral arrangement by the late Michael Kamen.

Written in 1978 and published in 1979 it's still a very topical song. It tells about a man of the showbiz who is making an interior travel to his troubled childhood and back and so on while he's experiencing a comfortable numbness because of painkillers (Does it remind of a certain recently dead Star named Michael, doesn't it ?).

I sang it on a great backing track complete with backing vocals provided by the youtube user matslelander. Thank you (again) man !!

Yeah I agree, I actually meant to go back and mess with it, but one too many hours spent on the project wore me down I think :P

Amused to Death > Momentary Lapse and Division Bell for sure.

  • @Deppizzymo Thanks ! I feel connected with Waters sound ... I also like his solo discography.

  • @Deppizzymo

Def. Roger Waters btw... I feel most try and find themselves in Gilmour, but you definitely found the Waters sound.
