Railway director and fellow Belgian Monsieur Bouc secures Poirot a last minute berth on the Orient Express, returning to England from Istanbul. Ratchett, an abrasive American businessman, traveling with his valet and male secretary, tries to secure Poirot's services as he fears that his life is in danger. Poirot turns him down, but the next morning, whilst the train is stuck in a snowdrift in Serbia, Ratchett is found stabbed to death. There is vague talk of a man seen fleeing the train, but many of the passengers in Poirot's compartment do not appear to know either Ratchett or each other, so what could the motive be? Poirot, assisted by Bouc and Dr. Constantine, attempts to find out.

  • "ravenhaven14" is actually a Fox in disguise! "Choo Choo" indeed! Haha I love it!.

P.S This is true to the Agatha Cristie Poirot because as he grows older he is supposed to grow more morose and Dark. Not light and Happy! This Poirot prepares us, for the inevitable "CURTAINS". The ONLY Episode I NEVER want to See!!! And neither does any Poirot Fan!

  • You can really see the tone change between season's 8 and 9. He seems to lose his optimism about human kind, having seen all the evil's that we are capable. His little foibles are still intact, but the sparkle of hopefulness is gone.

  • is that Shaun of The Dead's friend takng bribes from Mouisseur Ratchet?

  • Thank you so much for posting these!

    Love your imaginative titles :D

Hope you'll post any new ones that come up. David Suchet as Poirot is AWESOME ... and so are you, for uploading these for us! :)

  • So far this is a very dark and scary Poirot! Somebody hold me! tell me nice things!

  • Of course Poirots eggs must be EXACTLY the same size or else he can't eat them.

  • @SherlockDeWinter these comments are supposed to be the other way around

  • @djwongdj yes...that Poirot was just...too loud

  • @SherlockDeWinter She speaks Hungarian with difficulties, but the count is supposed to be a native. Why can't they find a Hungarian actor to dub these few lines? Sorry for nitpicking, but it is not the first time filmmakers do this mistake. It is a pity...

  • There is a common mistake with English movies, that use dialogues in foreign and less known European languages. When the countess and the count Andrényi are arguing about staying on the train he is trying to convince her to get down, while she wants to stay. "Maradni akarok"="I want to stay". And he replies with "Dragma", a word that does not exist in Hungarian, as far as I know, and it is incorrect for "Drágám"="My darling".

  • @robertquentincobb sorry to stick a pin in your balloon, Robert, but I DO want to see Curtain, and I have been a Poirot fan since long before you took your first breath. The story is amazing, and I can't wait to see how David Suchet and Hugh Frasier do with this one. And the title is CURTAIN, not CURTAINS!

  • Splendid this "Suchet's version" !!! Thanks and thanks again.
