This is segment 3 of the topic entitled A Rave of a Time? Or An Act of Worship?. In this presentation Ps Adrian Webster uses sources taken directly from the Rave party organizers to show that this popular global phenomenon has a deeply spiritual dimension. This topic is part of the larger Beyond Addiction series presented by Ps Adrian Webster. • Indeed... not all take the spirituality side seriously. But my point is that it is there and it underlies much of what goes on in the Rave culture. Hence the point is to make those who do not see this or realize this, aware of it. Incidentally, from my first hand experience in the Rave culture... I would not say some take drugs and most do not... other way around... most do and a few don't (many of which are converted to the drug culture despite best intentions not too at the start).

    Deuteronomy 6:5

    Matthew 22:37

    Mark 12:30

    Luke 10:27

All of these Scriptures command us to love the LORD with all our heart and all our soul and all our mind and all our strength. Jesus call this the greatest of commandments, and adds that you are to love your neighbor as yourself. All of the Law and all of the prophets, Jesus tells us, hang on these two.

I wouldn't worry about raves, or eating pork, or Christmas trees, or wearing blended fabrics, but hold to those two.

  • I can tell that you take what you say very seriously, and that's good. But I want you to consider the possibility that you are projecting that onto others. That when you see "Shiva" or "Zeus" on a rave flyer, you might be too quick to assume that they are being as serious as you would be if you were to write "Jesus" on a flyer. They might be kidding.

I know that some ravers take the spiritual aspects very seriously indeed, but most do not. Just like most aren't on drugs (though some are).

  • I have been going to raves since i was 14 years old! i love the raves! i also go to church on the weekend! I have asked god when i stoped going to raves and was reading the bible every day to tell me if they are wrong! I felt nothing! when i go to raves someone answers me! when i turn to god im left alone! so i find myself thinking who wants me more? i wish god would put himself in my life but i really think thats the real light! what made you stop going and do you feel god now thaturnotatraves
