All we need now is an 8-bit Muse to come on stage and play a chiptune version of Knights Of Cydonia!

@mediamaster9kalt Correct! The original was completed in 1953, although, unlike popular music there isn't really an definitive version since sheet music is not as accurate as most recording methods so every time the tune is played, the conductor has some freedom in how they think it should be played. Brilliant tune though and this is a pretty good version of Prokofiev's score: /watch?v=r3eBS1ktmvU&feature=r

@vapourmile oh, so the montagues and capulets here and on the simpsons are remixes, i get it now.

@mediamaster9kalt It's highly unlikely they took it from this video game, far more likely they took it from the original that Rob Hubbard did, Prokofiev's Montagues and Capulets.

guess what, they used this music for the simpsons falcon and the dohman episode, they remixed the music though but the same audacity!

I actually prefer this SID rendition to all the others I've heard, it just fits together nicely.

It sure took me a while to figure out where this actual tune came from, but it's very well suited to Sanxion. I bought a CD with Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet because of this. Pretty awesome.

It is of course an old classical piece. Sergey Prokofiev: Dance of the Knights, from Romeo and Juliet ...

Awesome 8-bit sounds that we're unlikely to hear again...
