  • Again, I’m sorry if I created any confusion in the video. Please let me know if you have any other thoughts or questions.

  • If you want to have an American-made product that is maybe of higher or lower quality and costs more, that’s fine as well. Again, my mission is simply to educate and empower the consumers to make the decision that is best for them.

  • I stand for empowerment for the consumer. If you know that a product is Chinese-made and of high quality and at a price point that is comfortable for you (i.e., your cell phones, TVs and computers), then fine. If you know that a product is Chinese-made and of low quality, but at a price point that you like, and price is your most important decision-making factor, then fine.

  • But, so too is quality. It amazes me how often internet shoppers are dealing with misinformation, or outright lies when a tub salesman tells them that that low-priced product was manufactured in the United States, when it was not.

  • The consumer can then decide for themselves the inherent value of that specific product. Otherwise we are at the mercy of internet re-sellers and foreign manufacturers, which is not very comforting. The majority of people who contact us over the internet are price-driven, they are being given low-ball prices for low quality tubs, and they want American made products at that price point. Price is always important to an American consumer.

  • Most internet re-sellers are selling low priced walk-in tubs that are made in China, and go through no quality control process whatsoever. That is a “bad” thing, and far more common than finding a high quality Chinese tub. However, when a Chinese made product is made to an American company’s specifications, such as virtually all “name brand” plumbing valves, TV monitors, and items like iPhones, Dell computers, Firestone tires, Ford car parts, etc, it goes through a quality control process.

  • My comments were directed to the issue of “quality”, without regard to country of manufacture (or, actually, planet of manufacture, as I included my willingness to recommend a high quality product made on Mars). I was simply saying that I will give my honest opinion as to quality without regard to country of manufacture. Fact is that some of the worst products are made in the USA, Canada, and/or Europe. Likewise, a product made in China can be high quality.

  • All I am saying is the “Made in China” hot button is a red herring used by some dishonest re-sellers to lie to consumers by saying their walk-in tub products are made in the USA, when they often are not. You cannot consume ANYTHING in the US anymore, and NOT buy from China. That is just the way it is, as we have already shipped most of our manufacturing overseas. I don’t support this, but I understand it as a reality we are working to change.

  • For the record, we very strongly support the concept of American made by American workers. In fact, we are in the process of working to expand our manufacturing and employment capabilities for our own appliances in the US. In the meantime, every opportunity to employee an American, and to protect the hard earned dollars of American consumers is our passion! And, actually…that’s exactly the point I was trying to make in the video. I’m sorry if my comments were somewhat confusing.

  • 2:32 "I have no issue with Chinese products." Seriously?!?! Quality or not, you should always care if it's foreign made. You might not want to say that to your customers.
