From http://www.witness.org | There is a silent crisis that effects every community in America: Elder abuse. Every year an estimated 5 million of America's older adults are beaten, ignored or financially exploited. Yet, as a country, we remain silent about this growing crisis.

To begin to address this problem, Congress has an immediate opportunity to pass federal legislation that will provide a foundation from which we can begin to protect our country's elders -- the Elder Justice Act. But we cannot do this without your help. Please help us break the silence by adding your voice to the national campaign and urge Congress to pass the Elder Justice Act now! • So you are advocating abuse? Abuse of any of God's creatures should NOT be tolerated! This includes men, women, children or animals! Let's hope someone who reads this doesn't abuse YOU!

  • The world needs more videos about this to get the people aware of what is going on right under our own noises. If anyone wants to help put something together to make this aware more than what it is right here in America We are feeding the world now and we have children starving right here in America I think that we should take care of our own first. I hope I'm not the only one that feels this way about our own Country I'm not saying lets stop feeding the kids in other countries but our kids.

  • Use of CHEMICAL TERRORISM. This couple was abused, some folks are very angry that| the wife is an advocate. The son died but his accomplice or accomplices continue the abuse and Chemical terrorism. These people are nothing but cowards, they should be locked away for the rest of their life.

  • The HORROR that our "Greatest Generation" is experiencing in publicly funded

nursing homes is beyond the scope of your worst nightmare. In veterinary hospitals we would not think of beating or terrorizing or starving or dehydrating

our patients, and yet this is going on in nursing homes on the Monterey Peninsula on a daily basis, with virtually no" protective "agency or "official"

stepping up to stop it, no matter how much it has been reported. WE WOULD

NEVER DO THIS TO ANIMALS! PLS CARE

  • No, not all innocent. The cost of elder abuse cost the country 10 billion a year... save money, ship them off to an Island where thy can care for themselves.

  • Old people are useless. I used to work in an old-folks home, and trust me, a good smack goes a long way when dealing with these burdens.

Don't be fooled into thinking they're all innocent.

  • I tried to get help from Social Workers for elder being exploited by someo of their relatives & friends ~ Soc Wrkrs treated me like I was nuts &gave me huge lists of #s to call for help, tried a lot of them & was sent runnin in circles, chasin my tail.........WTF

  • The Justice system has to do a better job. Every one has to act, ths is every body's business. I want to see Poster's in all school's from Kindergarten, to Universites, On Trains buses, businesses also movies and plays. It is a shme to see millions of abuse in this country., and so many turn a blind eye. We seniors are human beings, and want tougher sentences for the perpetrators. We are abused in every way, including chemical terrorsim. I'm very upset, I feel as if I''ll blow up.

  • @MerryElliott You are very right, not a single person has earned the right to abuse any form of God's creation. But we should also keep in mind that we also have the responsibility to protect them to avoid them from falling into the hands of abusive people.

  • what if the old person was the one who was doing the abusing?

  • what if old person is the abuser? what if he or she is the criminal?
