@EchelonSummer Yes, the Russian Federation wanted a medal for Domnina and Shabalin. This was the reason, why they didn't defend Plushenko.
-
@EchelonSummer Evan wins was the shame! The judges cheated!
-
Don't blame Evan for winning. Plushenko's own Federation sold him out and let him down. The only reason Weir didn't protest (and the judges who shafted him KNEW this) was that they buried him in 6th place, thus negating any real protest. if he'd been 4th, there would have been a review, and then things would have gotten messy for the judge who later TOLD JOHNNY that the US judges "Backed the other 2 American skaters..", and that they wished "we had known you were going to skate like that.."

@dorca000 I'm sorry, but I do NOT get my facts from Wikepedia..they are biased by whoever wrote or contributed the piece. . My question is: WHY didn't the Russian federation intercede for Plushenko, if they knew this? They can count, had access to the scores, and could have filed an official protest on behlf of their skater..if they thought it was so wrong that Lysacek won, where was the official protest, as was their right?? They sold out their own skater, it would seem. Not typical at all..

@EchelonSummer From NY Times ( /2010/02/20/sports/olympics/20
¬longman.html) : Lysacek received only a judges warning for a wrong-edged takeoff on his triple flip, not a 2- or 3-point deduction that would have changed the outcome, which was narrowly decided in his favor by 257.67 points to 256.36. Plushenko was the real winner.

Yes, Johnny was underscored!
-
I pretty much DO know the code of points, and HOW those points are calculated..I am a Johnny Weir fan, however, and am STILL struggling to understand how he was so horribly underscored! In the new IJS era, this shouldn't happen..but it does, and I despise the system that allows someone who FALLS to place ahead of a skater who skated a clean program, with ALL the required elements and what should have been near perfect GOE scores. Bias still exists. It didn't help Lysacek, but it hurt Weir.
-
@skatergirl51 Sorry, but he did more wrong in the new system than wobble on one jump!! Most of his jump landings were less than perfect, but the MAIN issue was his choreography...VERY old system, with a totally FRONT loaded program!! ONE more triple jump in the last part of his program, he'd have won..he skated clean enough, but the program was the issue, NOT the skater. I see now where Plushenko is working with NEW choreographers. Evan is a new system WET DREAM..he works it VERY well
-
@skatergirl51 Not my point. The judges know what they're doing... if Evan Lysacek won, he deserves to win. I'm trying to be nice... but you're making it really hard.
-
@TheTwitchesOFFICIAL4 ya, do you? If Plushenko did the quad, he deserves to win. thats the 'code' of points. He only wobbled on one jump. He deserved the win.
