@alchuze Thanks for the detailed information. I don’t need the FZ150 & I too think it may be the best in its class & that’s why I want it. If I don’t get the Panosonic FZ150, I have similar cameras, I may wait until the FZ150 updated model comes out. BTW, I understand the FZ100 takes a higher quality photo. Thanks again.

i hope the gh3 has a bigger body. this is too tiny, feels like a cheap toy.

Probably gonna get this in the next month or so, trading my D40 and HMC40 for it!

@Goodoldm When comparing cameras, I usually check the sensor sizes, and the one with the larger sensor usually has the better image quality and low light performance. GH2 sensor = 17.3mm x 13mm. FZ150 sensor = 6.16mm x 4.62mm. GH2 is the better camera and costs much more with some good lenses costing even more. If your budget fits, go for this. These lenses can be quite heavy and cumbersome, so if you like being lite weight, then i believe FZ150 is one of the best superzooms out there period.

what about a sony A65 or A77???

I was looking for the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ150 24x zoom #3 choice about $500.- w/ rechargeable lithium battery. Is this Panasonic GH2 the better of the two ? Thanks for this informative review.

I completely agree with you, I have this camera and I love it;)
I think the pancake lens that you can buy for this camera is excellent in video mode, probably the best lens, and you didn't mention the external mic input, that could be useful for serious videographers though some people say the external mic is not very good. I chose this over the 1100D and I think it was the right decision.:)

has the G3 superceeded this?
@Branthetechman,
So much for being the Tech man, A Panasonic Lumix GH2 IS NOT A DSLR. For this camera to be an slr- it would need a reflex mirror! s.l.r stands for SINGLE. LENS. REFLEX- with Reflex meaning Reflex Mirror.

@choppageworshipper DId you watch the video or read my comments carefully? If you did, then maybe you would realize the fact that I stated many times, that it is an EVIL camera and NOT a DSLR. I was simply comparing it to HD video capable DSLR's in order to give people a reference point for a better understanding of the best use for this camera. Go back and watch 0:48 when I stated that it was an EVIL camera. Please watch the video entirely before making bold comments to insult me. Thank You : )

What are the main advantages of the 14-140mm lens over the 14-42? I'll be using it for stills but mostly for low budget video stuff. I'm unsure on which kit to buy and whether I really need the more expensive lens.. Thanks

@Beast1333 Hi for stills it is a slightly sharper lens and has a higher zoom range, however it can become somewhat distorted at extreme zoom angles from testing I have seen online. For video it enables slightly quieter operation but if you are doing mainly budget work I would get the 14-42 mm first and if you are not satisfied, then upgrade for the more expensive lens.

@BrantheTechman Why is it a hybrid? I thought it was a full fledged DSLR? I'm planning on buying it.

@AgentJuly19903 Yes it is still a full DSLR (technically and EVIL camera), but I meant hybrid in terms of the fact that it was designed from the ground up for both video and stills unlike most other DSLR's on the market.
