You know, I think this is essentially a variant of a surf song called Exotic, credited to Bruce Morgan (1963). However, Exotic is actually a version of the Spanish folk melody/dance El Zorongo. I'd love to know more about this version! Exotic was recording by various Ton Hilder bands in 63, including (roughly in order): Jim Waller & the Deltas, the Rhythm Kings, Dave Myers & the Surftones, the Original Surfaris, the Sentinals, and Bob Vaught & the Renegaids.
