This is just a test how my Outback accelerates. A/C is on and road is slightly uphill - just normal driving conditions.

  • Howdy there, I own a 96' Outback Legacy with the 2.5 L 4-cyl engine with auto. tranny. The speedometer goes all the way to 140 mph / 225 kph - is this really a feasible speed in this vehicle.

It's a sturdy and sensible vehicle, but I don't think it can go that fast. Thoughts?

  • @tbsla13 It can... on a downhill :)

  • 2.5 has power but the head gasket goes be carefull IT WILL GO 2.5 is JUNK

  • @JASONTB1986 It had gone already - new original one and back to road ;)

  • @tbsla13 subaru use(d) a single type of speedometer for all their vehicles. So a WRX, or a GT might be able to push 140, but a legacy cannot.

  • Just had my cam belt done, OUCH

  • @Conrad1147 yea

  • @thatstheone87 Do you have the Automatic Gearbox?

  • i can vouch for this being stock. i have a 97 grandwagon (japanse outback version) which sounds and goes like this! love it. the head gaskets WILL go in the 2.5 (mine already been replaced). How ofton do the headgaskets go? 100miles or km or more? cheers

  • @BAlexandrov oh sorry :-). cheers.
