Sonu Chetry and his mates in pioneering Jharkhand rock band, Sparsh, lent a hand to Yuwa and threw a benefit concert at Ashok Hotel in Ranchi. Two opening bands covered the gamut from hair metal to death metal before Sparsh took the stage and played Pink Floyd and Dire Straits.
The entire Yuwa Adivasi Girls Football Team from Hutup got a chance to see their first rock concert. At first most were a bit shy but the Sports Authority of India team and my old Gurgaon friend Mahesh poured on the masala and got things sizzlin like a samosa in hot ghee.
All proceeds from ticket sales will go towards Yuwa's teams for equipment and future travel.
