After spending a year on the road and always hearing people ask about our process for keeping the site up to date, we made this video to show how easy it is to blog while traveling.

  • Hi Lee

Thanks for sharing your technique with us. You really make it look simple.

I have a couple of questions:

Do you have to install a utility to get the 'right click - send to Flickr' menu option?, and

When you drag the picture from Flickr to Drupal does this just happen or, again, is there a utility that you have to install?

    Many thanks.

  • Hello,

I'm glad we could help. I recommend downloading the "Flickr Uploadr" for adding photos to Flickr. You can find that here: flickr (dotcom)/tools

The only thing that needs to happen to drag photos from Flickr is that the entry in Drupal needs to have rich-text "enabled". Also, I've found that it's easiest to go to the different sizes of the photos to drag them. Sometimes dragging them from the main photo page doesn't.

  • pfff ridiculous, the hard part is not the technical side flicker, facebook, who cares??? but to find an angle, something interesting to say in an original way!

  • There's also a new way to start your travel blog. Go to TripAdvisorDiary. You can start your travel blog, upload photos and video, directly or from Flickr, Picasa and many others, also slideshow. Not only that, but maps, quick maps with directions, and ... the most powerful search engine and database for flights, hotels, cruises and so on. Don't take my word, visit the website and see by yourself.

  • These are great tips, For the last year, I have been trying to work with my daughter and we want to share our family travel though blogging and vloging. Your tips are are a great help.

  • Hey liked your video.. I agree that a little netbook and digital camera are the essential tools of the trade for a travel blog.. something lightweight and easy to get around .. plus so many hotels and hostels have free wireless these days its easy to upload after a busy day.. I'll have to check out your travel blog too for some ideas as I'm starting my own blog about travel blogs now too.. Happy travels.

    Carl
