Playing actors and viewers. A play which may overpower its participants, but is impossible not to join. A group of actors is performing a play concerning bull´s resurrection from days immemorial until today. A frightening and a frightened look are trying to push each other out, and thus deliminate the stage and the auditorium. This Farm in the Cave´s scenic composition draws from rhythms and dance steps through which slaves in Brazil were shaking off their bonds and creating their own world.

Background

The performance is based on researches on Afro-Brazilian cultural
manifestations in the Northern Brazil territory such as Maracatu-Rural,
Maracatu-Nacao, Cavalo Marinho to name a few. All of those Afro-
Brazilian carneval forms were born in sugarcane plantations: created
out of slavery situation - paradoxically steps and dances incorporated
very intense energy, vitality and tremendous power of life.
