The Space Shuttle (Narrated by William Shatner)
An idea born in unsettled times becomes a feat of engineering excellence. The most complex machine ever built to bring humans to and from space and eventually construct the next stop on the road to space exploration

@TheZachish, I am afraid your right about this in a way. With out the shuttle program we lose our ability to do heavy lifting into space. What I thank they should have done was to build new and improved shuttle craft. I am for space maned exploration and going back to the Moon and we will need to get a lot of very large things up in space and to the moon. Thank you for your comment.

the US won't be going in to space on its own any time soon, the failure to extend the shuttle program is a blunder that will cost us a great deal. 450 million for a shuttle launch and 67 mill for one set from the Russians... just wait to see what they charge after the last shuttle lands.
and forget about repairing the Hubble or anything else ever again, it is now impossible.
