What gets you is the fact he fought, then killed the head vampire while himself internally battling the rampant vampire virus tearing throughout his entire body. With all that on him he still sucked it up and saved his family... Hell, Twilight's not even in the same universe as Eben's sacrifice...

@TeenGemini01 yep and again that look on his face when he looks at the ring, he starts to fall apart cause he realized just what he is leaving behind. Then again at the same time he did it knowing that if he didnt she would die. He would rather see her happy and safe rather then even risk loosing her.

@MegaRipVanWinkle I wholeheartedly agree; I watched it again, and realizing that he did what he did while knowing full well the consequences shows a level of resolve that is admirable to say the least. There aren't many people, if any, who would be willing to make such a choice. I'm beginning to see why love is considered to be the strongest force on Earth.

@TeenGemini01 always has and always will. It was just nice that someone saw the scene as i did. This movie was epic in MANY ways. Even though his face when he looks at the ring makes me cry (im 19 btw and i still cry)) You are like the only one on the net that seems to get that this movie HAD to have this kind of ending. A movie like this would be ruined with a happy ending, it really would. Dracula was good, but im still thinking this is a TRUE Vampire story, period. no matter what anyone says
