I have a love/hate relationship with Star Trek, as much as I think it is a wonderful show, there are big downsides to it. One of the major flaws for me, is that the supporting characters never seem to ever get a chance. Kirk and Mr Spock have all the air to breathe, sadly the rest just never get any of it and to be honest I'm sick of Kirk and Spock getting all of the attention. An example of what I mean is that the episode This Side of Paradise (the one with Lelia) was actually written for Mr Sulu. Not Spock. ;(
Am I alone in wanting more from the supporting characters?
Update: It looks like I am. *sighs* I don't get it, we've got interesting characters here and all people want to think about is Kirk and Spock snogging! Am I missing something?
This is a tribute I created about the supporting characters of the Enterprise: Bones, Uhura, Sulu, Rand, Scotty, Chapel and Chekov. They are all brilliant characters and I would love to see them more apart of the plot, as they rightfully deserve it. I wanted to make this to show Star Trek isn't just about Kirk, Mr Spock and their 'relationship'. How about we make them secondary for once?

It is a good vid. I think the suporting actors were to get more time in the 3ed season and beyond yet they had to many problems keeping the show on the air. If you read some of the books you will get to know some of the supporting characters more. I like the Book "Uhura's song". You find out some more of her background in it.
