This 47 second movie clip shows the Incline Stability Test conducted on the Rogers Dry Lake by the Mars Exploration Rover. The Mars-like terrain was used to try out navigation software aboard an earthbound prototype rover.
@asianwong It's been geared to move real slow so that it don't topple over and crash to the sands. What you might call the reverse of mechanical advantage, torque etc
Building this stuff is a cushy job. Make billion dollar mistakes and the paycheck is still there for you. Wrong mirror on Hubble, Star duster designed upside down so the chute won't open and many other blunders. Not to worry, their tax payers money will feed them.

It's actually slower when it's on mars.

Yup, it's just really slow. When you send a rover to Mars, there's no one there to fix it if you break it.

now i see this is a slow rover, but is it because its batery isnt fully charged or did it lose its speed to torque??

Did you see that martian checking out the rover? Amazing! Still didn't see any liquid water though.
