This Mario Bros sketch is a remake of a one page comic from the Nintendo and Valient comic books released in the late 80's early 90's. Taking the idea, it was re-done a bit, and changed here and there. This story takes place of the Bros. in Brooklyn before they hit up the Mushroom Kingdom, which would also explain the color of their clothing, hense this is Mario Bros, not Super Mario Bros.

According to the DiC cartoons, they were working on a drain and were sucked through it which shot them out in the Mushroom Kingdom.

PS Shigeru Miyamoto didn't create Nintendo. I would explain who it was, but it was back in the late 1800's I believe, and they made playing cards, then the owner of Nintendo turned it over to his nephew or son in law, and he spawned it even bigger.
