Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen savagely tag-teamed the defenseless Orlando Magic in this game. Jordan played only 25 minutes and still ended up with 38 points on 14-20 field goals (70%). He scored at a rate of 1.52 points per minute. If he had played the entire 48 minutes and maintained that rate of scoring, he would have ended up with 73 points after 48 minutes of game-play. This is just one of a countless number of games in which MJ could have easily, nay, effortlessly gone above the 50 point mark had he played the minutes. After all, he managed to score 38 points after playing what amounted to half a game (25 minutes). His official number of 50 point games ended up being 39, but it could have been far greater had it not been for the many games like this where he scored 40 points to secure a Chicago victory before sitting out an entire quarter's worth of minutes (or more). He also had 7 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals in this game.

Scottie Pippen also played brilliantly in this game. He scored 20 points on 10-18 fg, had 7 assists, 3 blocks, and 8 steals. Yes, 8 steals. I included a number of his plays in the video as well.

  • my names allyx theus, reggie theus is my uncle! haha :)

  • ha, it must be cool to see this vid of him playing in the nba, even though MJ got the best of him.

  • I like how you put the airball by Cartwright in there.

  • yeah whenever I'm editing a game and I come across a bill cartwright airball, I can't resist putting it in. It's simply irresistible. And this one in particular was pretty great considering he was only a foot away from the basket. I'm not a cartwright hater or anything, but I do have a sense of humor, and Cartwright airballing is great comedy.

  • I think it should be noted in mlynch's video description, that Jordan has 11, 49-point games...no one else in modern basketball is close.

  • Does he really have exactly 11 49-point games? That's pretty awesome, I wonder how many 48-point games he has for that matter.

  • MJ gave Reggie Theus some revenge for flirting with his wife with that move at the 12 second mark.

  • @spitnificent Morlon Wiley is my uncle fool!!! Watch your mouth!!!

  • Morlon Wiley is Rajon Rondo's real daddy lol.

  • This was when Orlando was an expansion team.

  • damn, Nick Anderson before he became a spot-up shooter.

  • Man the Magic back then had horrendous defence, now its the exact opposite thanks to Dwight Howard mainly haha

  • ...is it just me, or does anyone else notice that the defence is just pathetic in this game? You would NEVER see this shit in a normal game these days.. Jordan was left with like 4 feet of room on almost every shot. I don't mean to say that Jordan isn't the best to play the game, but that is just pathetically easy defence. No wonder Jordan only played 25 minutes with that pressure... holy fuck that's weak.

  • Now you see why Jordan was riding cartwright's ass, all of the time back then!..Missing all of those damn lay-ups against the pre-shaq Magic. lol!

  • @actoman1 Kobe Bryant wouldn't have even said that, hop off his dick

  • A testament to the Bulls' talent. Jordan kills you to get a big lead, and while you think you're coming back cuz Jordan's on the bench, Pippen starts making plays.

  • @actoman1

    At what?
