@BasilFawlty4444 Due to the fact that we have universal health care too, I don't see why any Australian would be against the NHS in the first place. You guys have NHS, we have Medicare. New Zealand have universal health care too.
Interesting to see the smug Carville so defensive and so scared. Possible, even this professional liar finds ObamaCare a pill too huge to swallow and knows he can be attacked on many fronts concerning it. Does this mean he has some sort of scruples? Somewhere?
@motox3rider13 The NHS defines our nation, and it makes us proud. Nye Bevan remarked upon opening the NHS that "we now have the moral leadership of the world." I know a number of Americans, Australians and New Zealanders who have lived in Britain who have completely changed their minds about the NHS - they love it. You would too if you lived here.
The NHS ensures that the British people do not live at the mercy of employers or insurers, but under an elected goverment.
@motox3rider13 "Right wing" is a very broad term. Very few people in the UK are actually right-wing; we area very liberal, left-wing, democractic-socialist society. American politics, whether Democrat or Republican is very right-wing in our eyes. Likewise, the American healthcare system is a laughing stock.
Britain is a far more free, far more secular society than the USA. The monarch only holds ceremonial power, controlled in reality by the Commons and the Prime Minister.
@BasilFawlty4444 If you're British, how are you able to determine what is "right-wing" and what is not? You're a loon and know nothing...you get simple healthcare and think everything is fine. "Hey, the nice man sold me a candy bar; I love that stand"..."but wait, he murdered a girl last week"..."I don't care, he was nice when he sold me the candy bar"...Just goes to show how BLIND and IGNORANT you are...stick with your Monarchy, I'll have my Freedom....
@hitthecouch That's because neither rationing, nor death panels actually exist. It's all a right wing myth. If you ask me, it reveals how plutocratic the US politics is.
I am British and I have used the National Health Service all my life. I have always recieved swift top quality care and I have never had to pay a penny. The NHS is a wonderful institution. Established by socialists in 1948, no government of left or right wing has managed to get rid of it:
