Lobsang Chonzor was born in Kalimpong, north-east India. After the invasion in Tibet by Chinese in 1959, his parents fled from Tibet along with thousands of Tibetans to India. Lobsang was born in 1976. He studied in Central School for Tibetan (Refugee School) in Kalimpong.

He learned his traditional dances and songs since his childhood, while he was studying in this school. After he finished his school, the principal of this school appointed him as a temporary teacher, to teach traditional dances, songs and music where he received an "Appreciation Certificate" for teaching his tradition.
While he was studying in Kalimpong College, he joined "Gangjong Doeghar", a Tibetan performing troupe which was founded in Kalimpong in 1995. There, he learned and improved his skills as a professional artist. Voluntarily, he became an active member of this group. And then, he was appointed as a teacher in this association and taught dances, songs and music for the youngsters who are interested in Tibetan music and dance, and also worked to promote this unique culture.
With this troupe, he toured in United Kingdom in 2003 and 2004 and in Russia in 2004 and 2005, in Nepal in 1999 and 2005 and in Bhutan in 2005 and 2006. He also performed in many cities in India (New Delhi, Calcutta, Gangtok, Darjeeling and local community places).
He also became an active member of "Kalimpong Tibetan Opera Association" in 2000, where he learned the unique opera singing from professional teachers, and performed in "Shoton Festival" (Curd Festival) in Dharamsala (H.P), India from 2000 to 2005 in front of His Holiness The Dalai Lama.

In 2006, Lobsang got his first opportunity to perform solo because of his musical talent in France for "Residents of the World", an international artistic project in Valenciennes (northern France). He also took part in the second edition of this event, and in the summer festival "Imaginary Gardens", organised by the same association and in 2007 and 2008. There, he performed with many professional artists from all around the world with different culture (Greenland, Senegal, Turkey, Ethiopie, Australia, Kyrgyzstan, Powwow from North America, Aztec, Sri-Lanka...). Following this event, he performed successfully in Briançon (south-east of France) within the "festival of people of Mountains" and "Tribes of Doris" in England.
Since then, Lobsang now lives in Valenciennes (Nord pas de calais). He works nowadays to promote his Tibetan Culture in Europe. Performing in traditional culture. Lobsang's main goals are to preserve and revive Tibetan music in the Tibetan community, and to expose the rich performing cultural tradition of his homeland to the world community. His wish is to make people discover his Tibetan culture and to make them aware about it.
Nowadays, Lobsang is concentrating in composing modern tibetan music which appeals to the younger generation of Tibetans living inside and outside of Tibet.
