@MsRosy45 Curious, I looked Tommy up on Wiki - it records him as having married Ann in 1960 and producing a daughter, Emma. There is NOTHING about him leaving her. Wiki's reliability is often joked about - but personally, I have always found it to be accurate. I believe the jokes are based upon erronious and malicious things put into bios of MODERN "stars" - which Tommy is not. Thus, unless anyone knows more - I'm prepared to believe Wiki.

well, carlia fong69 must be 9 years ago or a little less he was cited as leaving Ann for a girl that was in his troupe when he was on the Stage doing a show and we were all a little surprised especially when he had been married for so long. I have not heard anything about him for quite a while so maybe he went back to Ann but I have not heard anything to the contrary so........???????

@gillypot1 Hmm. In that case, I suspect it was either a momentary abberation (we've all had THOSE!) or the story was a downright fib. Either way, it seems to have been a small deal, 'cause there's nothing about it on the bios and Wiki (and they usually mention things like that!) So I guess everything's okay now.

I have been a fan of Tommy's for 56 years since I was 11 and still am. I bought every record there was of his and still have his first hit "rock with the Caveman" on Vinyl. I saw every film, went to ALL of his concerts, joined the fan club and met him twice. When I was a kid my bedroom walls AND ceiling were covered with pics. of him and I STILL think he is great if a little naughty for leaving his wife....but I can forgive him anything!

@gillypot1 Both I and a commentator are curious about your statement that Tommy Steele has or once LEFT his wife - there is nothing mentioned on Wiki - or anywhere else on the Interweb. According to one article, they were still together seven months ago, after FIFTY YEARS together. Do you have any more info?

met him in my mums house 1961,he was playing foorball for the showbiz team,he came from blackpool in a tower taxi,ii was 17,great memories

well carlafong69 it was I think as you say a momentary abberation and if I remember rightly he apologised to his wife AND all his fans and asked especially his fans to forgive him. His Daughter Emma was quite upset about it at the time and I think he went back purely because of her.
