i thought the scene with the 2 detectives was hilarious with the confident inspector so sure of himself while ignoring crucial evidence noted by his subordinate. stephen fry's character could use a lot of lessons from sherlock holmes

Certainly one of my own favourites, as my various comments liberally sprinkled around YouTube for this film reveal! How about a slight alteration to the script?! An alternative exchange of dialogue might go: 'Would you mind putting the milk in after the tea?'. 'Of course! And will madam take one teaspoon of arsenic or two?'! If you're English, you'll get that, if you're foreign - maybe not! Are you possibly American? Just noticed your spelling of 'favourite' minus the 'u'. No offence intended!

Seriously?! I thought he was terribly miscast in this, myself. He seemed to play the role, as he might have done for one of those old 'Ealing comedies', which I think he'd have been brilliant for! I thought this was a very different kind of film though, with a distinctly different mood to it, entirely. No offence! Everyone to their own opinion, obviously!

You've got to love the British, they are all willing to do an ensemble cast to proudce a great work. Look at those in this movie who have such small roles: Helen Mirren, Eileen Atkins, Maggie Smith, Emily Watson, Derek Jacobi, Kristen Scott Thomas.. I could go on..
