Block Band is a collaborative multi-user tangible installation. It uses a series of cubes - imprinted with fiduciary markers - to create sounds and affect light and colour when placed on an interactive surface.
It uses a high definition camera to track the markers and a short throw projector to project colour and light. Speakers connected to the computer outputs sound as markers are detected.
The work aims to enforce collaborative creativity in a shared environment, each individual's roles, and the impact of their actions in the environment.
