Way better. Much more exciting to watch and better conveys how fast-paced and deadly MS combat is.

@Verliebt Yeah,i didnt understand too why it's special edition...
I watched the series in HD on TV and i watched the movie a wakeining of the tailblazer too.
And,well the Blu-rays are really expensive
I think buy only the Movie (on blu-ray disc) is a good idea.
well,that's it.Thanks for your reply comment =)

@RNishida05 i dont know why the title says "special edition" because i remember this scene from when i watched the series. i watched as a rip from the original dvds but it didn't say anywhere that what i was watching was any kind of special edition.
if you adready got the dvds i dont think you should get the blu-ray unless you want to watch in hd.
but if you dont own the show already, i guess the blu-ray would be better than dvd since you get it in hd on the blu-ray.

If you want to see fast, try ACFA or ZOE2. They're MUCH faster than Gundam.

That said, Gundam has become a platform for aweing 13 yearolds into buying well engineered model kits with over-powered asymmetric warfare. The moment they're supposed to "fight fair" against an opponent, all semblance of sense this series has tends to go out of the window.
If you want to see really great combat, take a look at 0080: War in the Pocket, 0083: Stardust Memory and 08th MS Team. 08th is especially awesome.

@aleshamder As flashy and pretty as it all is, the actual combat leaves a lot to be desired. If you work out what's going on in three dimensional space, a lot of it doesn't make any sense at all. They'll enter a scene and the enemy won't be maneuvering or firing and there is almost absolutely no use of cover, terrain or evasion mechanics that make any real sense that correspond to what you see in the design.
Gundam 00 has the best Gundam Battles ever. No other Gundam series even comes close.
