  • Hey man, Buick engines are built with a higher nickel content, tougher metal with thin wall castings, If you put aluminum heads on 455 Buick it will way 60lbs less than a stock small block Chevy. They are inherently more efficient and make incredible torque, I could go on... The biggest reason Chevy's are so popular is because they are cheap to buy and cheap to build because there are so many of them. And when someone puts a Chevy mill in a car like this, I want to throw a torque wrench at them.

  • Nah, then you'd be an old fart like me! LOL

I just wish that myself and my buddies realized what we had back then. Those cars were our every day drivers, but if you took a half dozen of those same cars nowadays and parked them somewhere, people would think its a car show.

  • @NobleLumpkin i know this is a 3 year old comment but chevy bowtie blocks are the best

  • @clborg88 - you sure did!

  • This car is for sale on Craigs list in Boston MA. $ 27K

  • When can I drop by and stea- uh.. look at it?

  • @earnhardtfanthree Wen I was a kid, my father had one of those. What I wouldn't do to have that SD in my garage today!

  • '69 Skylark GS was only available with the 400, but there were some really hot over the counter factory kits for that, including Stage 2. The Buick 455 bowed in for 1970. It wasn't even in production for model year'69. The 430 was the big gun in Wildcats and Rivs, but NA in any Skylark/Special.

  • What's it run in the 1/4? ET & MPH?

  • @1899lpv and also the rear bumper on a 68 is full.In 69 they add a back-up lamp just over the rear license plate.

  • Amen brother. If you wanna build a racecar cheap, you build a Chevy.

  • sounds a little lean!
