Frid the Groom (Åke Fridell) tells Petra the Maid (Harriet Andersson) about the last smile of the summer, in the long and luminous northern light.
The first smile is for the young lovers, who have as much joy as sorrows. The second is for the clowns, the irreclaimable who have the fun, but not the joys. The third could well include YouTubers staring at this little screen a few hours before dawn!

But of course there is but beauty to Bibi Anderson, I just happened to prefer brunets at this and at that time.

What a sincere compliment, thank you.
I forgot I made this reply. But I have changed the title of the poem to MOVIE STAR LOVE, hoping for it to be more inclusive. Many believe Bergman, dour, ill at ease (unbehagan) with his own soul, yet the movie is a light heart, wonderful of comedy of the sexes. I remember the first time I had seen it. I fell profoundly in love with Harriet Anderson. I plan a translation of this poem into German; when I complete it I will forward you a copy. Yours, S.
