By tracing back his own roots, Haley tells the story of 39 million Americans of African descent. This particular subject matter is of great importance and pride to the African American (Black) community, and should NOT be made a mockery of.

"Roots" speaks to all races everywhere, for the story it tells is one of the most eloquent testimonials ever written to the indomitability of the human spirit.

I saw it and i hated it so badly it was racist to both blacks and whites because in a way in the end they let the white man be the slaves and the blacks the slave owners it wasnt a good porn and I felt that the film was one of the worst films ever made 4 parody those black people who played in that should be ashamed of their selves..
