In response to criticism the SBA received for the lack of disaster loans being made to small businesses near the gulf, Jonathan Swain, Assistant Administrator at the Small Business Administration went on Fox Business News' Gerri Willis Report on Friday, July 9, 2010.

  • If the SBA were irresponsible in its lending practices, FOX would be the first to jump on them equating them to Fannie Mae. Government now must be more responsibile so we the tax payers do not continue to pay off everyone's debt. What this Fox personality failed to recognize is the newest program SBA has in its deferral of repayment to keep businesses from failing to repay. I find it ironic that Fox wants the government providing more loans. Damned by Fox if you do and damned if you don't.

  • Why can reporters "seldom" allow guests to finish their answers, but instead constantly interrupt? Swain (when permitted to do so) gave very thorough answers to each questions directed toward him. I've always felt it would be very interesting to see how reporters such as this one would handle the same situation!
