The European Satellite Navigation Competition (ESNC) (www.galileo-masters.eu) is an international innovation contest that awards the best ideas for applications in satellite navigation. The competition is an annual competition, organized by Anwendungszentrum GmbH Oberpfaffenhofen (AZO). This year's best ideas and applications for the innovative use of satellite navigation were awarded on October 19, 2011 in the Allerheiligen Hofkirche of the Munich Residenz in Germany.
Making Virtual Solid - California (MVSC) (http://www.mvs.net) won the NAVTEQ Special Topic Prize, the USA Regional award and the overall Galileo Master for its location-aware mobile True3D™ Head Up Display which is a groundbreaking new navigation and guiding system. True3D™ is an augmented reality navigational display engine designed to provide non-distracting, translucent location guidance via a red "virtual cable" and virtual signs which are projected directly onto the windshield of a car or truck in the field of view of the driver.
In this video you can see Bavarian State Minister for Economic Affairs Martin Zeil and AZO's Thorsten Rudolph and Ulrike Daniels hand out the Galileo Master award on stage to Juliana Clegg and Tom Zamojdo from MVSC. Mimmis Cleeren (formerly Olsson) from NND is later interviewing the winners
