15+ comments, if possible.

I don't know what to do right now, so I'll just ask you guys. Although I really wanted to make this a bit of a long series because I wanted to add some character development in here, I feel like you guys are losing interest considering I post so slow. D: Would you like me to wrap this up quickly and start a new series . . . or take my time with this?
. . . . .

"I believe you just swooned, Miss Rosenthal!" He shouts out from afar, waving his hands up in the air with a bright grin on his face.

I chuckle to myself as I walk into the house. He's an idiot. I've been swooning over him all this time, and he picks now to state the obvious.

"I'm home!" I shout loudly, too lazy to go look for Karen. I sprawl out on the floor and stare up at the ceiling, playing back the moments of our dates like a mini-movie. My toes curl as the insides of my stomach turn inside out; I let out a girlish squeal while kicking my legs out in glee.

"You're still dressed?" Karen asks as she steps out of her room. "Can you do me a favor then, Lucy?"

She doesn't even give me a chance to answer.

"Great. Can you take the sugar cookies I baked in the kitchen to our next door neighbor? I think they moved in today, and I just thought it'd be nice if we welcomed them." She says lying down on her back as she flips through the television channels. She's a totally lazy bum.

"I didn't know you were so kind and caring to our fellow neighbors." I say sarcastically before walking into the kitchen and grabbing the plate of cookies. She doesn't answer me; I'm completely ignored. With a large and heavy sigh, I trudge outside the house and walk over to the house on the right.

Ding Dong. No answer. Ding Dong. No answer.

Ding Dong. Ding Dong. Ding Dong. Ding Dong. Ding—

"Geez, you sure are impatient." A teenager, who seems to be about the same age as me (although he's almost a head taller than me), chuckles as he opens the door. He looks up for a moment and meets my gaze, his eyes a startling light brown, painted with all the colors of autumn. I gasp and remove my finger from the doorbell, dropping the plate of cookies on the ground.

—Dong.

The glass shatters on the ground and breaks into what seems like a million pieces. His eyes grow wide with bewilderment. "Are you okay—"

"Connor! Who is that and what's all the ruckus about?" A female voice calls out from inside the house. "Connor?" She calls out once more when he doesn't respond.

"It's nothing, Mom! Just continue unpacking, alright? I'll be there in a second." He responds calmly without averting his gaze. "Are you okay? I think you're bleeding." He furrows his eyebrows worriedly and reaches out his hands toward me.

I jerk my hand away and continue to stare at him. It can't be you, I think. There's no way you'd come back here after all these years. Why now? I shake my head and limp backwards, ignoring the pain in my feet. "I need to go. I'm really sorry about the mess."

Not wanting to live this nightmare anymore, I run back to my house before he can say anything else. This can't be happening, I think. Why would he come back? He left years ago. He has no reason to come back here. I don't understand.

The thoughts inside my head are running a hundred miles a second. I think I'm finally at my limit. Walking back inside the house, I wince as I ask Karen for a first-aid. Although she doesn't particularly care at first, her eyes widen with surprise when she sees my feet.

"What the hell happened to you?!" She screams, rushing over to my side and opening the first-aid kit. "I simply asked you to deliver the cookies to the neighbor. I never asked you to go on some epic adventure and get yourself injured, you dummy."

"I'm not happy about this either," I grumble lowly, deliberately avoiding Karen's gaze the whole time as she patches me up. I don't want to show her my teary eyes; I'll just look like an idiot. Quickly wiping the angry and confused tears from my face, I quickly get up and limp towards my bedroom. "Thanks," I say weakly before disappearing through the door. I lock the door behind me and slide down against its wooden frame.

I felt like I was on cloud nine a couple hours ago . . . but right now, this is a complete nightmare.
