This is a look into my absolute favorite Japanese arcade game, Taiko no Tatsujin (aka Taiko Drum Master). You play on a huge taiko drum controller, and hit the drum to the beat of the song. Red notes are hits to the drum head, and blue notes are hits to the drum rim. The five levels of difficulty are Beginner, Easy, Normal, Difficult, and Oni (Expert). Actual difficulty ranges from so easy a 3 year old could do it, to, well, what you see here, and beyond.

The genres typically found in any Taiko game are: J-Pop, Classical, Anime, Variety, Children's songs, and Namco Originals.

I've been playing since I studied abroad in Japan 3 years ago, either by means of a Japanese arcade, or the home versions which are on the Japanese versions of Playstation 2 and Wii.
