Here's my stripped down forecast for this upcoming winter weather event here in NYC. This storm has the potential to drop a foot of snow on my area. This 4 minute video shows the basic things I look at when trying to forecast an event like this.

I'll be posting more of my forecasts over the coming weeks/months. Let me know if you enjoy them. Thanks for watching! And please rate, comment & subscribe if you have enjoyed the video.

  • While you were making this vid, we were also freezing our tails off in Oklahoma. I dealt with a lot of the snow storms in N.C. with this same type of senario. We got 2 feet of snow in Jan 2000 with this type of setup when I lived in Wake Forest, N.C. But now I live in Oklahoma because of my desire to do some storm chasing. I managed to get one on the April 22nd in the Tx panhandle.

  • @Torn80cj Congrats on the Apr 22nd catch in the TX Panhandle! Yes, I have several friends in OKC and I've seen the video of some of your storms this past winter. Thank god that's over with for now, lol....I'm liking this warm weather! Thanks for watching!!

  • Thank you Scott!!!

I just hope I'm able to get home from work tomorrow - I heard the LIRR is going to close if there's more than 10 inches.

  • Hi Aunt Karen! Thanks for dropping by my channel :)
