Mayor Mitch Landrieu and City Councilmembers, City and State Officials and FEMA will open the new Algiers Regional Library located at 3014 Holiday Drive. The new building replaces the former library that was razed in 2010. The total cost of construction is $9.2 million with funding coming from recovery dollars (Disaster
Community Development Block Grants and FEMA funds), Energy Efficient and Conservation Block Grant, and City bond funds. This library is the fifth new library the City of New Orleans has opened this in the last four months.
