@12Toodles12 Wow, well that's a really balanced and logical reason to judge an actress' performance in a show! Because she was in Cats, you can't accept her as Pearl? Because she filmed a show over the course of 3 weeks, she could have no further career?
Perhaps you need to look at the bigger picture rather than simply contradicting popular opinion.

I love Starlight Express but Jo Gibb is just...ugh. I don't like her too much because she was in the movie Cats and waaaaaay too many people like Cats the movie. Mostly stupid people. The movie's great, but so are all professional productions of it, which many stupid people haven't even cared to listen to.

Didnt Richard Stillgoe who did part of the lyrics for Phantom of the Opera before replaced by Charles Hart do the lyrics for Starlight Express ?

Did she play Pearl on the touring production, do you know? The 3rd Generation performance? (as in..the first time they toured with the 3D stuff)?

No, Pearl in the first cast of the tour was Jane Horn, who had understudied Jo in the final year of the London production.
