This little bayside community in New Jersey was once a nice vacation/fishing community. It is now owned by the state and all the homes are abandoned. Relentless beach erosion, and the high costs of preventing the erosion, finally resulted in the direct purchase of the properties from the state. This little speck of the New Jersey bayshore actually was the host to two hotels and an amusement pier in the late 1800s/early 1900s. The only ones to find amusement here now will be birds, turtles, and fish. Sad end to a nice little historic community.
I always wondered about this place, as I'd heard of it while growing up in Summit, NJ ( a long way from Sea Breeze), and wanted to visit. Now I'm really sorry I didn't, especially since it appears the houses were torn down since this video was made. I'm so sorry for those who grew up in this beautiful little community, that it no longer exists.

I visited Sea Breeze a number of times, and have always enjoyed the serenity and the mystique. I'm going to begin gathering information about a possible book on Sea Breeze; may I use some of these photographs, in case it's not there the next time I get out there!
