This tribute took place on the 6/23/03 episode of RAW. Mick Foley returned to the WWE 2 weeks before to referee a HIAC match between Nash and HHH. Foley quit WWE 18 months before. He and and McMahon had differences of which WWE and Mick Foley was taking. Foley at that time was commish but he thought he wasnt being used properly. Yes, Funk wanted too much money to appear that night....
The person below who made the comment about the WWE only caring about money is an idiot.
Of course, they want to make the most money possible...like that is a bad thing. If they can make more money turning PG, then go for it. Plus, based on their recent financial reports, it is working. Either suck it up, quit bitching and enjoy the product or just stop watching the WWE.

the rock and sock connection was the greatest ever. foley was the hardcore champion would do anything to make us chant his name. and the rock? well im sure i dont have to say to much about him. they both need to be inducted into the hall of fame this year rock and sock connection.

u know i saw this czw vid i said that a hate to idmit it but some people are more hardcore than mick but i realized that there hardcore in a diffrent way so there for mick is the most hardcore wrestlier for the fans!!

@100jefffoley i cant agree or disagree but in Japan, Foley and Funk had some true hardcore matches. I never seen Mick in ECW so i can't say what his style was like. But i know once he got to the WWE his hardcore style was watered down for television purposes. There is no way they could ever aired a CZW style match.
