I have no ambition in this world but one, and that is to be a fireman. The position may, in the eyes of some, appear to be a lowly one; but we who know the work which the fireman has to do believe that his is a noble calling. Our proudest moment is to save lives. Under the impulse of such thoughts, the nobility of the occupation thrills us and stimulates us to deeds of daring, even of supreme sacrifice.

@oooshitman9 So i dont get it, Firefighters are "stupid" to risk alot to save alot, but your an EMT right? So when you respond to that accident on the side of the freeway on icy roads looking over your shoulder at every vehicle driving by wondering if the next one is going smash into you, Thats not "stupid". Enlighten me, please. And for your sake, I sure hope your outlook on everything changes because you wont make it far in this career with that kind of attitude.

@oooshitman9 One more thing... Where i'm from Paramedics and Firefighters are one and the same. You rotate shifts on the Engine and the Medic so if you want to be an EMT make for damn sure you aren't here, and judging from your attitude you would NEVER make it here. There is not ONE Captain here that would let you work at their Station. Grow up before you try to say anything about any subject and learn the facts of what exactly is done. EMTs get into some pretty hairy situations themselves.

@oooshitman9 Just because you don't have the balls to be a Firefighter doesn't mean that you can just say what you want about the men and women that save lives everyday. If you were to be caught in a house that was on fire you would be hoping and praying that the "stupid" people that put on their turnout gear to run into said house would be there to save your sorry ass. If you even are an EMT you are a sad excuse for one and i would HATE to work on an Ambulance with you.
