First, crossfit workouts at boxes regularly have a strength component and so do many main site workouts. And since crossfit is aimed at improving all areas of fitness, there is essentially nothing that crossfit workouts won't utilize. Second, if you have followed Rich at all you would know that his training program is anything but periodized. It's undulating, spur of the moment, how do I feel today kind of training. So basically, your comment is bullshit

I hold the CSCS and it was a joke of a test. You know it was, too.

My high school (Chantilly VA 1999) had several 18-year-old 300+ power cleaners and I was one of them. I agree that 165 pounds is stretching it. All of these guys at my school were 190+ lbs (I was 210).

crossfit has strength elements that are not parts of the workouts themselves. when i did crossfit, we did the strength workout (whatever that was, ex. front squat 5-4-3-2-1) and then the "actual" crossfit workout, which was made up practically on the spot, was not structurally sound, ranging from 5-25 minutes. his comment wasnt bullshit. if you only did the crossfit "workouts" then you would be a skinny motherfucker, which rich is not. the preworkouts that most boxes do are not crossfit workouts

Great discussion. I have been doing Crossfit, yes I am fit and strong but, I feel that it is not programmed correctly. After one certification anyone can open a gym, I agree with most of what Robb is saying.

No need for the cussing. You can make a better point without it.

I agree, if you watch some of his workouts/competitions his form is almost perfect from the first rep the 100th rep.

CF competitions might want to start testing their athletes.

the intensity of crossfit is too intense for the people who use it, crossfit is stupid you don't do most of those movements at fast speed for long rounds, the crossfitters aren't able to handle weights

Rich Froning does all movements associate with Crossfit and his strength program is the Crossfit basic 1's 3's and 5's. Crossfit isnt just metcons. A little education goes a long way....
