To answer Kevin's question, the SA-X in the research laboratory was killed due to the explosion. But in the dialogue right after that, the computer tells Samus that because X can multiply, there are no less than 10 SA-X's on the ship. Andy shouldn't speed through the dialogue so quickly! :P
