Atlantic City local trolley service continues
after the abandonment of the Shore Fast
Line to Ocean City, NJ. Clips from the far
downbeach loop at Longport, thru Margate,
and Ventnor Cities and into Chelsea. Seen
are the Brill Liners and some older Hog
Island cars purchased from the PTC in
Philadelphia which were used down to
the Navy Yard. Cars run thru uptown AC
down to the Maine Island loop and car
barn at Cap't Starns restaurant and fish
store. These will bring back memories
for those who remember the old cars
and Atlantic City of the 50's. These
videos can still be located, but some
are only on VHS and found in store
sales and on the web. Thanks for
watchin', Rich.
They were ordered by the Emergency Fleet Corporation (United States Government) to run on Philadelphia Railways (the name changed with every frequent financial difficulty) and later ran on the Ocean Electric Rwy. on Long Island, N.Y., before coming to Atlantic City. No. 250 is now owned by the Shore Line Trolley Museum in Branford, Conn.

The older cars shown in this segment, like 247, are War Board cars 3rd hand from a competitor to Philadelphia Transportation Co.'s predecessor, Philadelphia Rapid Transit and their Hog Island Cars.
