Is that is the Fire Axe made in USA? If so how do you like it? What length and model is that one?
-
I wounder when the fire department will consider electric chainsaws. Electric motors have come a long way in power and dont require oxygen for combustion. Plus, they are lighter.
-
Im a junior firefighter and the back of the axe is much more effective and quicker

Oh ya think!! Nice one stating the obvious. Its training and it gives both the effect and idea of the job needed to be done. And dont worry i've done more than what you think i should try.

No i'm not stating i'm the over experienced firefighter just that osb isn't always the only traing prop. We have trained on comp roofs and rolled roofs with this technique also.

Well for one it is less prone to sticking into the hole made. its kind of like a wedge by using the cutting edge. Also when using the back there is some what of a technique. You can however see the person in the background using the other cutting edge

you'd never find that wood under a roof. at least not where i work.

You find it alot here. Different on the overhangs as thats usually plywood. Again depending on the roof comp this could or could not be achieved with ease.
