Laggan Stores - A Shop with a Difference

Laggan Stores was featured in the Scottish drama series 'Monarch of the Glen' as McKechnies shop. However its most important role is the service and support it provides to the remote Highland community around the village of Laggan, in Invernesshire, Scotland. The owners Jo and Ian took over the shop in 2003 because they thought it was important for the community. Now close to retiral, the couple want the shop to continue as a going concern rather than a holiday home. This little video gives an insight into how the shop is run and how important such shops are to local communities and businesses.
